Turiya Charity will continue to expand on the Bhai Nand Lal project in the years 2013–2014 as a celebration on the life and works of Bhai Nand Lal. Apart from regular updates of this website we will also be working on other projects related to Bhai Nand Lal. If you would like to contribute to any of these projects, whether by a donation or any other kind of help, please get in contact with us by sending us an e-mail or via the bank account numbers below. These projects will not succeed without the support of the global sangat.
Some of the upcoming projects will include:
A Bhai Nand Lal documentary
Turiya Charity is currently fundraising for the production of a one hour documentary on the court of Guru Gobind Singh focusing on Bhai Nand Lal Goya and his achievements in Anandpur. The documentary will stress the importance of learning and arts that were so central to life at Anandpur at the Sikh court. The documentary will include some of the worlds leading scholars of Sikh history.
Amongst the fundraising events for this documentary that have been held in the past was a seminar on self-defense in 2012. A group of young city Professionals came together at Waterloo in London to learn martial arts. All profits went to the documentary. Click here to see pictures from the event.
Santhia classes in London
The Bhai Nand Lal project will not be of any use unless the writings of Bhai Nand Lal are mainstreamed and become an integral part of Sikh discourse and life. For this, we wish to set up Santhia classes in London around 2014 where basic Farsi and the correct pronunciation of several of the poet’s works will be taught. These classes will be open for all and we will aim to include granthis and parcharaks to ensure that the voice of Bhai Nand Lal is heard more often in mainstream katha.
CD recording of the Diwân-e-Goyâ
Turiya is currently fundraising for a late 2013 project that involves a studio recording of the Diwân-e-Goyâ ghazals sung in classical sufi genres. This project will include the involvement of professional singers mastering the ghazal style of performance set to the classical raag system.
If you wish to support any of these projects, please do so by donating to the below account or send us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org with information on how you are able to contribute to spreading awareness on the works of Bhai Nand Lal. Apart from the above mentioned projects we are also looking for artists, painters, calligraphers etc. for this website.
